How do I split a tip jar evenly?
Divide the total by the number of people sharing it: $340 in tips split among 5 staff is $68 each. This works well when everyone worked the same shift length.
How do I split tips by hours worked?
Weight each person's share by their hours divided by total hours worked: someone who worked 8 hours out of a 20-hour total shift gets 40% of the pool, regardless of headcount.
