Method: GPA = Σ(grade points × credit hours) ÷ Σ(credit hours) on the standard 4.0 scale (A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, F=0, with +/− steps of 0.3 where used).
How it works
Each letter grade maps to grade points (A is 4.0, B is 3.0, and so on). GPA is the total grade points weighted by credits, divided by the total credits:
GPA = sum of (grade points × credits) ÷ total credits
A course worth more credits has a larger effect on your overall GPA.
