How it works
Everything is first converted to an annual figure based on your working pattern, then divided back into each period. For example, annual pay equals hourly pay times hours per week times weeks per year, and monthly pay is the annual figure divided by twelve.
Frequently asked questions
Is this gross or take-home pay?
It calculates gross pay before tax and deductions. Your take-home amount will be lower after income tax, insurance and other withholdings.
How are weeks per year used?
They convert weekly figures to yearly ones. Use 52 for every week, or fewer if you take unpaid weeks off.
Can I convert from a salary back to an hourly rate?
Yes. Choose Year as the period, enter your salary, and the hourly equivalent is shown based on your hours and weeks.
