How do I calculate my pool's volume in gallons?
Multiply length × width × average depth (in feet) × 7.48: a 30 × 15 ft pool averaging 5 ft deep holds about 16,830 gallons.
What is average depth?
For a sloped pool, (shallow end + deep end) ÷ 2: a 3 ft to 7 ft pool averages 5 ft. Enter that figure for an accurate volume.
Why does pool volume matter for chemicals?
Every dose is per-gallon: raising chlorine 1 ppm takes about 2 oz of granular chlorine per 10,000 gallons. Wrong volume means chronically wrong water chemistry.
